Day Twenty-Six - An song/album that changed your opinion about an artist

Goldfrapp - Felt Mountain

My original opinion on Goldfrapp wasn’t very specific.  I wasn’t even sure if they were a band, rather, some musical entity that existed to send messages to our subconscious that Toyota Corollas are sporty and are easily maneuverable.  When I came to Tazo, I think I might have heard someone in the lab playing Supernature and I realized that the music mentioned above is, in fact, a band, named Goldfrapp, I was neither impressed nor unimpressed.

It wasn’t until sometime later when someone was playing Felt Mountain that my mind was BLOWN.  It was like some type of unbelievable James Bond 007 music.  After overhearing about a song and a half I rushed right in to ask what it was, to my surprise, Goldfrapp?!  The same band I had completely brushed off a couple years before (I understand Supernature came out after Felt Mountain) was now my new favorite band.  I went back and listened to everything with new ears and it was good, not as good as Felt Mountain (in my opinion) but I think that’s just because I really like that James Bond vibe, yes, I did just use the word “vibe.”
